New Barbour Jackets - Now With Armour

We're delighted that Barbour have listened to their customers and have now created two new motorcycle jackets that can take D30 impact armour for the first time. The Bike Jacket and the Short Motorcycle Jacket are part of the Barbour International Motorcycle Clothing Capsule and are dedicated motorcycle jackets with a specification that is almost identical to the original International Jackets. The Barbour Bike Jacket is an instant modern classic, taking its styling from the original International Jacket. Made from 8oz waxed cotton, the Bike Jacket has all the features you would expect. It is breathable, waterproof and has a stormfly closure with Barbour's trademark diagonal front map pocket. The accompanying Barbour Bike Trousers can be attached to the jacket with a special zip at the back. A new addition to the Bike jacket is a waterproof tartan lining and a removable red quilted gilet. To bring these classics up-to-date, Barbour have now added pockets to accomodate the industry leading D30 impact armour. This is a soft malleable armour that goes rigid on impact for increased protection and there are pockets for elbow, shoulder and back armour. This is a welcome addition indeed as Barbour motorcycle jackets have not had armour up to this point.

Barbour Bike Jackets

The Barbour Short Motorcycle Jacket is exactly that, a short motorcycle jacket! It is a short mojave style jacket and is made from the same 8oz waxed cotton as the Bike Jacket. We really think this jacket is going to be a top seller this summer as it looks great and is ideal for summer riding. It has much the same specification as the Bike Jacket with a waterproof tartan lining, removable quilted gilet and the ability to insert D30 elbow, shoulder and back armour. Adjustable side straps means that this jacket will be a perfect fit no matter what size you are. Barbour are definetly moving in the right direction with these jackets and we hope to see more dedicated motorcycle jackets added to the Barbour International range in the future.
