A recent safety test conducted in France has found that three batches of Biltwell Gringo and Gringo S helmets may not provide sufficient impact absorption at extremely low temperatures (–20°C / –4°F).
Based on these findings, the European Commission has announced a recall of all potentially affected helmets. You can check whether your helmet is affected by checking the E13 serial number on the label on the chin strap. The recall will be limited to the following four-digit codes only:
Please check your Gringo or Gringo S for the above serial numbers. If your helmets displays one of these four-digit codes, please stop wearing it immediately and get in touch with us. All other serial numbers are not affected and are safe to continue using.
Biltwell Lane Spitter helmets are not affected.
